Keytronic needed something that would optimize floor space and improve productivity in their warehouse to better meet their business goals. These vertical lift modules would allow for the operator to quickly locate and retrieve stored trays with the a touchscreen featuring an intuitive user interface. These modules would allow for space savings up to 85% compared to standing shelving, productivity increases up to 60%, and accuracy rates up to 99% through promoting lean operating principles by eliminating unnecessary steps in processes, removing the need to have staff physically walk across the warehouse, and being able to complete tasks more quickly than a person could. Based on its investment, Keytronic was able to see an ROI within a year due to the reduced need to hire new staff members in spite of their business’ growth.

Each VLM has 46,000 parts, integrated circuit boards, and intuitive software that would allow the operator to easily retrieve goods, but the warehouse solutions team at Fairchild Equipment was able to handle each step of the design and installation process on their own. The result was a state-of-the-art warehouse storage retrieval system that was easily integrated into their existing infrastructure that increased their rate of pull and lowered their overall costs considerably.
