Job Description

Fairchild Equipment, Inc. is seeking a self-starting stable, hard-working, dependable and motivated Sales Manager for our Yale and Hyster division in Green Bay, WI.  The Sales Manager is responsible for managing the activities of the Northeast segment of our Fairchild Northern Division Sales Representatives, while ensuring that established goals, profitability, growth and account penetration within the Northern Division are being achieved on a day-to-day basis.  It is also the responsibility of the Sales Manager to support and train the sales team in promotion, increase the company’s presence within the region, and continuously develop and implement the selling strategies. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Work closely with Sales Representatives and assist in the field to win deals.

Assist in establishing Long Term Lease (LTL) rates.

Assist in establishing Rental Purchase Options (RPO)/ New and Used rates.

Hold monthly sales meetings for your respected Sales Representatives within your segment.

Assist in coordinating vendor visits along with training on their product line for sales meetings.

Work with factory when necessary.

Review Industrial Truck Associate (ITA) reports and the teaching/preaching of their impact to the group/team.

Monthly review of scorecards with the sales representatives.

Mentoring on daily bases of deals.

Direct communication with salesman and where they are at on various deals.

Assist with the dealer plan(s) for Hyster and/or Yale.

Attend factory, dealer and supplier meetings as needed.

Respond to all phone calls and emails within one (1) business day.

Communicate and work directly with National Accounts.

Manage Green Bay New Sales Department.

Assist in the tracking of new inventory.

Work with our Marketing Coordinator to create website specials.

Maintain an accurate customer data base.

Coordinate the needs and wants of our big customers through our system.

Review and accountability of financial statements.

Assist in establishing forecasts and goals for sales representatives.

35% blended market share in territory.

Ensure that the correct employees, structure, and processes exist within the sales team to successfully obtain corporate sales and profit objectives.

Ensure that the region is developed to deliver the company’s short and long term goals.

Assist with reviewing and analyzing sales and margin performance against budget to determine effectiveness; implement corrective actions when necessary.

Develop and train Sales Representatives.

Visit customers with Sales Representatives.

Continuously develop a relationship between Fairchild and our Distributor.

Work with the Marketing Department in the development and implementation of new sales and marketing strategies.

Monitor and report about our industry and competitors in the region/market.

Support and train new Sales Representatives, as required.

Monitor budgets, product and sales forecasts and communicate corrective measures to members of the management team.

Adhere to established policies, standards and standard operating procedures.

Actively support corporate initiatives including continuous improvement efforts.

Ability to organize, multi-task, and meet deadlines.

Ability to take on additional tasks as needed by the Corporate Sales Manager.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Management/Administration, preferred.

7+ years of sales experience in related industry.

3+ years of sales management experience.

Knowledge of forklift/heavy equipment industry.

Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Excellent analytical skills.

Excellent customer service skills.

Ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance.

Advanced computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Adapt and work in a fast pace environment.
